Costa Rica is worldwide known for the tropical rainforest, pristine beaches, great surf and abundance of wildlife. In order to preserve the natural environment many areas became national parks and the tourist can enjoy it while visiting Costa Rica.

Just five kilometers north of Dominical, a private reserve called Hacienda Barú is one of the many attractions offered to explore by Costa Rica Surf Camp. Home to more than tree hundred species of fabulous birds, anteaters, sloths, iguanas, wild cats and monkeys you can take your time to walk on the trails on your own or with a tour guide.

Reveled trails with cocoa plantation and thick forest, part of the reserve is located on the beach, along with the Baru River to the south side and the mangrove swamps to the north side. Don’t be surprised when you are observing the mangrove and the tide is rising, a crocodile comes up to say “what’s up!”

Hacienda Barú National Park features many adventures onsite. Canopy zip-lining, tree climbing, bird watching and jungle night hiking are among the many things you can experience while there. They are dedicated to protect the wildlife habitats of the refuge,
