Corcovado National Park has been known as “the Amazon of Costa Rica”! One of the best attractions offered by Costa Rica Surf Camp and many other tours operators in the country is a day adventure to see this precious peace of rain forest.

Located on the southern pacific corner of Costa Rica in the Osa peninsula, Corcovado has earned a reputation for some of the Costa Rica’s best wildlife watching.  From crocodiles on the wetlands to shiny jaguars cruising around, this place is the real image of the rain forest with diverse species of flora and fauna, sky-high trees and magnificent creeping vines.

Corcovado National Park is the only place in the country where all 6 types of big cats are common to see it. There are 400 species of birds, which 20 of them are found in this park only, and not to mention that has the largest population of scarlet macaws in Central America and it’s a guarantee to see one on your visit.

When it comes to wildlife spotting, your expectations should be realistic; a guide is highly recommended if you want to cross real numbers of your must seen list. Also another tip, many of the river trails along the beach will be impassible at high tide and visitors have often been stranded, make sure to check with the rangers before starting your hike.

Costa Rica Surf Camp offer daily tours to the Corcovado Park, where you can spend a whole day or three days exploring, and it includes park entrance fee, guides, boat transportation, meals and accommodations. The only way too see Corcovado is on foot, by exploring inside the jungle, so make sure to bring good and confortable hiking shoes!
