The third annual Dominical Lifeguard’s Surf Contest is happening this Friday March 29, 2013 at Playa Dominical. The Dominical Lifeguard program is the first professional beach lifeguard service in Costa Rica and is has been privately funded by public donations, therefore completely depending on business and individual donations.
Before the greater effort of community members on recruiting a professional lifeguard to start the program in 1996, Dominical beach went from having an unofficial average of twenty drowning per year to officially consecutive years without drownings when the lifeguards are on duty.
Nowadays Dominical is a safer beach for visitors and locals to enjoy! Costa Rica Surf Camp is proud on having on the crew a few members of Dominical lifeguard’s team. Sunset Surf owner’s Dylan Park himself volunteered for few years on the beach guarding and gaining the experience that not too many have to offer.
Offering surf lessons for kids and adults of all levels and ages, Costa Rica surf camp is a guarantee of surfing safe and having the best time in the water. When learning to surf with Sunset Surf Dominical Camp you know you are in good hands!
Come enjoy the surf contest this week in Dominical, all the profit goes to the lifeguard program, generating funding to keep our guards on the beach and making Playa Dominical the best beach to be!
